Coach Jeff Hiestand

  

Jeff Hiestand is entering his twelfth year with the Green Terror Aquatic Club. Previous to GTAC, Jeff spent four years at both GBSA and Mt. St. Joe’s High School. Jeff served his first three years at the GTAC as the Head Age Group Coach before moving on to his present role of Head Coach.



Jeff has been named the Maryland Age Group Coach of the Year on three separate occasions. In 2007 he served as an Assistant Coach at both the Eastern Regional Select Camp, as well as the USA National Select Camp.

During his time at GTAC, Jeff has coached swimmers to:

18+ Maryland State records
65+ National Age Group Rankings
13+ National #1 Age Group Rankings
3 different swimmers ranked #1 in the US in their Age Groups in 2005
13 USA Junior National Championship Qualifiers
7 USA National Championship Qualifiers
5 different Sectional Meet Champions
1 swimmer named 2004 Short Course World Championship Team (Bolivia)
2 swimmers named to the National Junior Team
3 USA Olympic Trials Qualifiers (2004 and 2008)
4 swimmers named to National Select Camps

The Green Terror Aquatic Club has recently been named a Silver Medal Club as part of the USA Swimming Club Excellence Program. This marks the eighth year in a row the GTAC has been awarded this honor. The GTAC is one of the best small clubs in the country.
